Privacy and your data

What stays on your site, what leaves it, and how to help a client who asks for their own data.

Where the data is

Bookings, clients’ details and answers, services and settings stay in your WordPress database. Nevua has no server of its own that receives your clients’ data.

What leaves your site

Only what you turn on:

  • Freemius, which handles the license and PRO updates. Only if you opt in when you activate the plugin, it receives your name and email, your site’s address, language and IP, the WordPress, PHP and plugin versions and, if you allow it, the list of plugins and themes. Skip the opt-in and none of this is sent. The Plan page asks for PRO prices sending only your site’s address.
  • PRO integrations you switch on get what they need to work: the payment gateway gets the amount and the client’s email; the SMS or WhatsApp provider, the phone number and the message; Zoom or Google, the meeting’s time and name; a connected calendar, the booking as an event.

WordPress’s privacy tools

Nevua joins the tools under Tools:

  • Export Personal Data: a client’s export includes their bookings and their answers to your form’s questions.
  • Erase Personal Data: removes the client’s details from past and cancelled bookings (the date, service and amount stay), from the message log and from the waitlist. Upcoming bookings stay whole until they take place, so you know who’s coming; erase again after them.

Under Settings → Privacy, WordPress’s policy guide has suggested text about the data Nevua keeps, to copy into your privacy policy.

Deleting the plugin

Deleting Nevua keeps its data unless Delete all data when the plugin is deleted is on. See Services, hours and settings.
