Emails and reminders
What Nevua sends, from which address, and how to make sure it arrives.
The emails
Choose which emails go out under Nevua → Notifications → General → Email notifications.
| To | When | |
|---|---|---|
| Confirmation | the client | the booking is confirmed (at once, or when you confirm it). Carries a calendar file (.ics) for Google Calendar, Apple or Outlook. |
| Request received | the client | the booking waits for your confirmation. |
| New time | the client | you or the client rescheduled. The calendar file updates the event. |
| Reminder | the client | before a confirmed booking. Asks them to confirm they’re coming. |
| Last call | the client | closer to the time, if they haven’t confirmed. |
| Cancellation | the client | the booking was cancelled. |
| New booking | you, the professional and any Additional recipients | a client booked. |
Emails to clients are in your site’s language and carry the private link to reschedule or cancel, when that option is on.
Sender
Under Notifications → General → Sender, fill in the From name and From email. Left empty, Nevua uses your site’s name and the administrator email.
Replies always go to the address you chose. But mail providers reject or hide email that claims to come from a domain it wasn’t sent from. So when your address isn’t on your site’s domain (a Gmail address on yourstudio.com, for example), Nevua sends from noreply@yourstudio.com and keeps your address for replies. The Sender section and System status say when this happens.
Delivery
Nevua sends through WordPress, so whatever improves your site’s email improves Nevua’s. Many hosts send WordPress email in a way that lands in spam. For reliable delivery, install an SMTP plugin (WP Mail SMTP, FluentSMTP, Post SMTP or similar) and connect it to a sending service or to your domain’s mailbox.
To check, send a test email from Nevua → Notifications and look in the inbox and the spam folder.
Reminders
Under Notifications → General → Reminders and confirmation:
- Reminder time: 24 hours before (unless you change it), 48 or 72 hours before.
- Last call, if not confirmed: off, or 1, 2 (unless you change it), 3 or 6 hours before.
Reminders go only to confirmed bookings. A rescheduled booking gets a new reminder, and the client confirms again.
Reminders depend on WP-Cron
Nevua looks for reminders to send every hour, through WordPress’s scheduled tasks (WP-Cron). WP-Cron runs only when someone visits your site, and not at all when it’s switched off (DISABLE_WP_CRON). On a quiet site, reminders can go out late.
System status, on the Dashboard, shows when reminders last ran and warns when they’re late. For reminders on time, ask your host for a cron job that calls https://yoursite.com/wp-cron.php every 5 to 15 minutes.
